November 4, 2016—BG&S founding partner Vincent F. Gerbino was recognized in November as a “Member Highlight” by the IFC CLM Insurance Fraud Committee for his lead role in a $28 million insurance fraud case in 2009 against a doctor who was wrongly paid under the New York No-Fault Law.
The successful jury verdict remains the only one on the issue of fraudulent incorporation.
Gerbino, who has been practicing for 30 years, recently achieved the Certified Litigation Management Professional (CLMP) designation from CLM.
The intensive program is taught by senior insurance company and large self-insured company executives, risk and senior claim officers and in-house and outside defense counsel on a variety of subjects, including risk transfer, loss development, financial considerations, case and claim management strategies, alternative fee agreements, client relations and e-discovery.
In November, his article, “Uncovering Misrepresentations in the Insurance Application,” was the Fraud Squad column in CLM magazine.
