Michael Ferruggia joined Bruno Gerbino & Soriano (BG&S) as partner in December 2019 when he started a new real estate division for the firm. His primary focus is in the commercial real estate markets.
For more than two decades Mr. Ferruggia has provided the highest caliber of legal representation in the face of a fluctuating real estate market by remaining an actively engaged advocate, policy adviser, educator and industry trainer. He is also an adjunct professor of real estate law at Villanova University, College of Professional Studies.
Prior to joining BG&S, Mr. Ferruggia led a Long Island-based law firm for over 17 years. As founding partner, his practice concentrated on real estate transactions and litigation while representing an extensive base of institutional, corporate, and private clientele.
Complementing his private practice is his active involvement as an educational speaker for numerous not-for-profit agencies and a keynote lecturer and industry trainer for all aspects of real property law, mortgage lending, real estate transactions and current market trends. He has also served an adjunct professor of law at Briarcliffe College.
Committed to raising the industry standard of practice in New York, Mr. Ferruggia founded in 2013 the New York Center of Real Estate (NYCORE)–a fully accredited real estate school offering relevant and contemporary Continuing Education programs to real estate professionals. Since 2014 he has also served as counsel to the Board of the Hamptons North Fork REALTORS® Association (HANFRA). As such, he serves as the legal liaison and voice of Long Island REALTORS® in both state and national matters.

Mr. Ferruggia received a Juris Doctor degree from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 1993 and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Stony Brook University in 1990.
When he’s not practicing law, Mr. Ferruggia is passionate about supporting his twin sons in athletics, coaching and mentoring in multiple flag football leagues. “I define success as witnessing my players accept their failures and share with teammates in their successes,” says Mr. Ferruggia.
