Prior to BG&S, Mr. Destinvil was an assistant corporation counsel for two years with the City of Newark Law Department where he gained extensive experience in all civil litigation, including claims related to Section 1983 and the Tort Claims Act. He was also a law clerk for the Honorable Peter V. Ryan in Essex County from August 2014-August 2015.
Mr. Destinvil received a Juris Doctor from Rutgers School of Law in 2014 and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the College of the Holy Cross in 2005.
While a law student, he was a staff editor for the Rutgers Law Review and was also selected to the Rutgers Moot Court Board, where he participated in both the law school’s appellate advocacy and trial advocacy competitions. In conjunction with his studies, he also interned for several law firms as well as the PSE&G Law Department.
Prior to law school, Mr. Destinvil worked for four years as an immigration paralegal with Iandoli & Desai, P.C., an immigration law firm, handling business- and family-based immigration petitions, administrative appeals and affidavits.
He was admitted to the bar in State of New Jersey in 2015.
