Bruno, Gerbino & Soriano (BG&S) LLP is pleased to announce that Shay Deshpande will join the firm as partner on March 1, 2017, in the firm’s Ramsey, NJ office.
He brings more than 20 years of experience as a litigator, winning defense cases involving civil rights, insurance, governments, police departments and more.
“Mr. Deshpande is a proven leader committed to working hard for his clients and winning some of the most difficult cases, setting precedents along the way,” said Vincent Gerbino, a founding partner. “His wide-ranging experience will enable us to further enhance the service we provide for our clients.”
Among his successful cases, Deshpande most recently secured a settlement for his plaintiff involved in a health care litigation matter. His continued success has not gone unnoticed in the industry as he has appeared on the cover of New Jersey Law Journal several times for his work in employment and civil rights cases.
Previously an associate for the law firm of Fusco and Macaluso, Deshpande handled the general litigation defense of insurance fraud, civil rights, employment and personal injury cases. Throughout his 23 years of experience, he has also been a partner at Zwerling & Deshpande LLC and served as special claims counsel for the County of Essex.
Deshpande attained a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1990 and a Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers University School of Law, Newark, NJ, in 1994.
